This PDF guide contains all the information you need to make one of our work skirts on your own. They are based on mid 1700s skirts and petticoats, but are easily adapted to fit a variety of historical skirt needs. It does not contain pre-set sizes to cut out, but step-by-step instructions on calculating the pieces you need. All example and suggested measurements are in imperial, but the pattern is perfectly functional in metric units, as well.
This pattern contains:
- A brief history of pleated skirts & how they compare to this pattern
- Glossary of sewing terms
- Descriptions of recommended techniques
- Detailed drafting instructions, both written description and simple formulas
- Material choice and yardage guide
- Fully illustrated construction instructions
